Our office has the necessary experience in obtaining work permits for foreign hi-tech experts. Thanks to us, many hi-tech companies and startups have successfully brought dozens of experts and even extended their visas when needed.
Israel is a leading country in innovation, digital technology, and hi-tech, but hundreds of companies in the field based in Israel suffer from a shortage of personnel and sometimes need foreign experts to maintain and develop the company or startup. To address this, the Ministry of Interior has issued a procedure that eases the process of employing foreign experts in hi-tech.
Hi-tech companies have the option to submit an application for a hi-tech expert through an expedited process. A company that has proven to be a “technology-intensive company” can submit a separate application according to the “Foreign Experts in Hi-Tech and Cyber Procedure,” which provides certain leniencies.
Among the eased restrictions, the procedure allows the employment of a foreign expert in hi-tech and cyber for a temporary period of up to 90 days in a calendar year through an expedited process for obtaining the permit. Additionally, the procedure allows companies interested in employing a foreign expert who has completed a bachelor’s degree in Israel in the last year without paying double the average wage in the economy. Another advantage of this procedure is that it allows a foreign expert whose employment in a hi-tech or cyber company has been permitted for a period of over 90 days (i.e., not through the expedited process) to request a B1 type residence and work visa for their spouse.
Our office has the necessary experience in obtaining work visas for foreign hi-tech experts from the Ministry of Interior, and thanks to us, many companies and startups have successfully relocated dozens of experts and even extended their visas when needed
Our office will accompany the employer seeking to obtain a permit to employ a foreign worker from the stage of collecting various documents, including certificates of both the company and the employee, through the stage of submitting the application at the bureaus, paying the fee, and until receiving the requested permit. Among our clients are international companies and organizations from the most prominent in the global and Israeli markets, and we have had many successes in obtaining permits for employing foreign experts and even in appeals against the Population Authority’s decision on granting approval to foreign experts.
